Chapter 2379 - So He’s Ian (10)
“Oh.. It’s already Valentine’s Day? If you didn’t mention it, I would’ve forgotten about it…” Huo Mian said with a smile. “When you’re busy at work, you forget everything else…” Chen Jie was familiar with Huo Mian’s character.
“What about you? How are you and Ni Yang celebrating?”
“He said he reserved a nice restaurant. He’s coming to pick me up after work…” Chen Jie smiled sweetly. The newly married couple emitted an overwhelming aura of happiness.
“Ah. Ni Yang was a nice and considerate guy before but he’s become even better after marrying you. Jie, did you save the universe in your last life to get such a great guy this life?” Huo Mian teased.
“I think you saved the universe. No one could be happier than you… You have President Qin to love you so ardently. Everyone’s jealous of you…”
“Okay, let’s stop the praises and eat lunch. I have surgery this afternoon.”
“Okay.” Chen Jie nodded. The two did not engage in further conversations.
Huo Mian was busy for the whole afternoon. When she came out of the building, Qin Chu was already waiting for her outside in his black Bentley.
This black Bentley had a luxurious interior, yet it was not high profile on the outside.
“Honey, how long did you wait for?” Huo Mian smiled sweetly.
“I just arrived.” Qin Chu didn’t tell Huo Mian that he had been waiting for her for half an hour because he didn’t want her to feel guilty.
“There was a surgery this afternoon. Ah… I’m so tired and hungry…” Once Huo Mian sat onto the front passenger seat, she was able to relax.
“What do you want to eat? I’ll take you anywhere…”
“Aren’t we going home for dinner?” Huo Mian looked over at Qin Chu.
“No. No one’s at home. Mom and Dad went out with friends for tea. Pudding and Little Bean are over at Su Yu’s place. I don’t know where Ning and Tang Chuan went either.”
“So… we’re going to be the only ones left at home?” Huo Mian said, feeling a bit speechless.
Yeah.”
“Why don’t we go to Ah-Xin’s Ramen?” Whenever Huo Mian was indecisive of where to eat, she would pick Ah-Xin’s Ramen. The small and warm restaurant that would bring back memories of her and Qin Chu’s teenage years.
“Okay…” Qin Chu nodded. He did a U-turn and drove towards 2nd High School.
“Boss, two bowls of ramen, please. One large and one small,” Qin Chu ordered.
“No, we’ll have two large today. I’m super hungry!” Huo Mian stuck out her tongue and acted cutely with Qin Chu.
Qin Chu smiled back and reordered, “Two large ramens please.”
“Alright, coming right up. Just a second!”
Very soon, the two bowls of steaming ramen were served. The owner even threw in his specialty pickled vegetables as a treat.
Huo Mian and Qin Chu were used to eating expensive food, yet to them, this bowl of ramen was the best in the world. Huo Mian was so hungry that she kept eating and didn’t stop to chat at all.
“Slow down. You’ll burn yourself. You’re an adult but still act like a little child…” Qin Chu reminded Huo Mian with a smile.
“I can’t help myself. I’m just too hungry. I’ll talk to you after I fill myself with food. Hahaha…” Huo Mian said as she slurped another mouthful of noodles.
Qin Chu was worried that one bowl wasn’t enough for Huo Mian so he gave her the beef from his ramen.
There was an old television by the reception area of Ah-Xin’s Ramen, and the evening news was on.
“We have received updates on a murder that happened near Huxi Road. The victim was a young woman and she has not yet been identified. However, she died the same way as Xiang Xin, with all the blood drained from her body. The police have closed that area. With Xiang Xin and Mo Xue’er’s deaths, this is the third case to happen in recent times. The psychotic killer is still on the streets and everyone is scared. Let’s hope that the police can catch him as soon as possible. We will continue to report and update everyone on this case.”
When Qin Chu heard this news, his face sunk. He put down his chopsticks and stared at the television coldly.
