Chapter 76 - Wei Zhiqian Holding Tan Mo in His Arms
Wei Zhiqian gritted his teeth. He would not let go.
The doctor was speechless. He was a doctor. Why did this guy think he would take advantage of a patient?
And this little girl wasn’t even an adult. Did he really think he was that beastly?
“Please bring a female doctor here,” Wei Zhiqian insisted.
Of course he realized that the doctor probably didn’t have any nefarious intentions, but Wei Zhiqian just felt that it was inappropriate to have him here.
Seeing that the doctor was about to get angry, Butler Zhou hurriedly said to him, “Please don’t be angry. Young Master Wei is not questioning your medical ethics. It’s simply that he has pampered his niece since childhood. It’s not only you. Even when she was six years old, he wouldn’t let her walk with her male classmates.”
Doctor: “…”
What the doctor wanted to say was is there something wrong with Wei Zhiqian?
But, after listening to Butler Zhou’s explanation, the doctor calmed down and said helplessly, “I’ll call a female colleague over.”
“Thank you,” Butler Zhou said, relieved.
And, after the doctor had left, Butler Zhou sighed from exhaustion.
Working for Wei Zhiqian was really extremely difficult.
The nurse closed up the bandages and pushed the cart away.
After a while, a female doctor came in.
This time, Wei Zhiqian said nothing.
When the doctor had finished her examination, she smiled and said, “It’s okay, don’t worry, this little girl is just overworked, and she fell asleep. She just needs some good rest.”
After the doctor had left, Wei Zhiqian lowered his head and frowned as he said, “Why are you so tired?”
“Perhaps it’s because she has been preparing for the college entrance examination. Students always lose sleep when they’re preparing for that. After taking the exam, which requires high concentration, she didn’t have any time to rest. Then she didn’t sleep all night because she was worried about you. With all these things together, she became exhausted.” Butler Zhou had pondered over the situation, and he thought that this was the only explanation.
“Young Master, I’ll tell the elders that you are awake,” said Butler Zhou.
“Let me do it.” Wei Zhiqian asked Butler Zhou to bring him a phone.
Wei Zhiqian then made a few video calls with the two elders, Wei Mingwen, and his wife, respectively.
Seeing that he was in good spirits, the elders were relieved.
They wanted to come to visit Wei Zhiqian, but Wei Zhiqian said, “I’m recovering very well now, so you don’t need to come visit. It’s better to take this opportunity to investigate things at the border. The other party probably didn’t expect me to recover so quickly.”
Actually, none of them, the two elders, Wei Mingwen, or his wife had thought he would recover so quickly.
They had originally thought it would take him at least a week to regain his vitality.
Now, after having been persuaded by Wei Zhiqian, the four of them didn’t rush over, but planned to see him later.
After Wei Zhiqian had hung up the phone, Butler Zhou, afraid of waking up Tan Mo, asked in a low voice, “Young Master, why didn’t you tell them about your wounds?”
Wei Zhiqian lowered his head and glanced at his bandaged wound. His eyes flashed and he said, “Butler Zhou, bring me the fruit knife on the table.”
Butler Zhou was baffled, but he brought it to him.
Wei Zhiqian didn’t take it. Tan Mo was still holding one of his hands.
He stretched his free hand out toward the knife and rubbed the blade against his index finger.
A long cut appeared on his index finger, and red blood dripped down his fingers.
“Young Master!” Butler Zhou hurriedly called out to him, but it was too late.
Butler Zhou threw down the knife and was about to go get the doctor.
“You don’t need to call a doctor for this little injury.” Wei Zhiqian stopped him and squeezed the incision on his fingertip. “You see, I don’t have any self-healing abilities. The blood is still flowing, and the wound hasn’t healed yet. This incision is much smaller than the bullet wound, so it stands to reason that the recovery should be faster. So, this was just a coincidence. Don’t take it to heart.”
“You didn’t need to do this.” Butler Zhou felt very distressed.
Since Wei Zhiqian refused to call a doctor, Butler Zhou found bandages and disinfectant in the medicine box.
Fortunately, they were in a hospital, and there were lots of medical supplies in the ward.
Wei Zhiqian put his finger in his mouth and said, “It’s a small injury, and it will be healed soon.”
Butler Zhou quickly wiped Wei Zhiqian’s wound clean, smeared it with disinfectant, and put a bandage on him.
“Butler Zhou, you have been taking care of me all night long. After breakfast, go to your room to rest.” Wei Zhiqian squeezed the bandage on his index finger.
” I still have to take care of you.” How could Butler Zhou leave Wei Zhiqian alone and go to sleep by himself.
“Do you think I look like I am in danger now?” Wei Zhiqian moved his free arm. “The doctor gave me an anti-inflammatory infusion. I don’t think there would be a problem even if I wanted to leave the hospital now.”
Butler Zhou had to admit that Wei Zhiqian’s wounds were almost healed, and he was full of energy. There should really be no problem if he left the hospital now.
But to be on the safe side, it was better to stay here to recuperate and be observed for some time.
At this time, breakfast was also delivered.
“Young Master, do you want to wake up Miss Mo Mo?” Seeing that Tan Mo was sleeping so soundly, Butler Zhou couldn’t bear to wake Tan Mo.
But skipping breakfast was bad for your health.
Wei Zhiqian looked down at Tan Mo, who had fallen asleep beside him, and still held his hand with both hands like a little doll. She’d stuffed them under her neck to make it more comfortable to sleep.
Wei Zhiqian kept his eyes on Tan Mo, and a warm smile appeared in the corners of his mouth. “Let her sleep now. Order her a meal after she wakes up.”
After Wei Zhiqian’s persuasion and a promise that he would call Butler Zhou if something happened, Butler Zhou finally went to his room to sleep.
Because Wei Zhiqian had woken up, the elders of the Wei family, Wei Mingwen, and his wife didn’t conceal the fact that he had been hospitalized. After all, they had to investigate inside the family first, so there was no way to continue to conceal it.
They just didn’t explain the reason for his admission to the hospital.
As it approached noon, Tan Mo finally let go of Wei Zhiqian’s hand, turned over with her back to Wei Zhiqian, and went back to sleep.
Wei Zhiqian’s hand had been held by Tan Mo all morning, and, even though his palms had been sweating, he hadn’t dare to move.
Therefore, his arms and shoulders felt stiff and sore.
Now that he was finally free, Wei Zhiqian hurriedly moved his arms and shoulders.
With Butler Zhou gone to rest, Wei Zhiqian didn’t have Tan Mo change places. He continued to let her sleep here.
And since Wei Zhiqian had nothing to do, he looked down at Tan Mo’s sleeping profile.
Tan Mo’s face was still a little pale. Because she had her back to him, Wei Zhiqian had some difficulty seeing her face.
He had to prop up his body with his left hand and lean sideways to look over her.
He reached out to touch Tan Mo’s face again.
Fortunately, although she was still pale, she didn’t feel as cold as she had in the morning.
Unexpectedly, at this moment, the door of the ward opened. Qin Murong came in carrying a thermos.
The scene in front of her made Qin Murong’s mind explode!
In her opinion, Wei Zhiqian seemed as if he was holding Tan Mo in his arms and caressing Tan Mo’s face.
