This Earth Is A Bit Fearsome

Chapter 280 - Get involved with Worldly Affairs and Save the People

Things in the entire world of cultivation did not get any better throughout the past year or so.

There was no doubt that the times at the moment was a golden one for the cultivators.

Yet, to the secular government, they only saw that the cultivators getting increasingly brazen, after having more and more among them becoming Celestial Realm beings.

If it had not been for the government still having all kinds of very potent weapons at their disposal, as well as having governmental agencies like the Special Task Force and the Dragon Fang Special Forces around, things would have definitely spiraled out of control.

What happened with the Guimen Sect was a very typical case of such attitudes. They remained somewhat controlled in the manner they went about their business and lurked in the dark, only because they feared powerful organizations like the Special Task Force.

However, the likes of the Guimen Sect nonetheless posed a serious threat to the country.

The threat felt even more real given that there had been cases of cultivation forces overseas overthrowing their governments and making themselves kings.

It became obvious that the balance was broken once those cultivators achieved great power, carrying themselves as if they truly were gods among mortals and that they deserved worship from said mortals.

Lu Xuan had never refused working with the authorities throughout the whole time, and it was apparent that he was a patriot.

There were quite a number of cultivators out in the world of cultivation still.

The cultivators of the current generation were being raised under patriotic education after all.

However, few among them were capable of serving key roles nonetheless.

It was just like in the case of the Dragon, who was indeed powerful, yet was still far from exceptionally so.

Lu Xuan, on the other hand, commanded such powers.

As such, the decision to hire Lu Xuan was due more than to the Dragon’s proposal; more importantly, the country simply needed a genius like no other like Lu Xuan.

“I would indeed like to serve my country.” Lu Xuan continued, “Well, the country is promoting widespread cultivation, isn’t it? I suspect you are having problems getting the instructive materials for furthering such an endeavor.”

The First Minister was stunned for a bit before nodding in agreement. He never thought Lu Xuan would have brought up such a point.

While he was not the one in charge per se, but he nonetheless knew more or less, that the government was indeed getting quite a headache over the materials needed for such an endeavor.

All the sects and clans had their own different methods, and they had their own relatively complete systems.

However, there was nonetheless a very huge problem—the methods were not inherently universal.

All those methods were basically meant for an extreme handful. Be it the Taoist, Buddhist, or methods of other questionable and heretical origins, all of them were only suited for a handful of people.

There were only so many who were of such physicality to train in such methods.

Those sects and clans all went about picking their successors based on traits inherent within their methods. That was nothing wrong about that.

However, as a nation with a population numbering over 1.3 billion, propagating cultivation at such a scale would be quite a headache.

The government had been selecting a huge number of experts from the Special Task Force, the Dragon Fang Special Forces, and some other cultivation organizations, for writing such instructive materials.

It would be quite a delusion to think that widespread propagation of cultivation—literally making every single citizen a cultivator—could be done, without a set of suitable materials after all.

None—be it someone or some state—had attempted an endeavor like widespread cultivation among the people before.

It was no doubt a headache for all who were involved.

There was hardly any progress seen with such propagation among the people for the time being. The biggest obstacle, other than having inadequate resources, was the lack of suitable instructive materials.

They lacked materials that were comprehensive in all sense of the word.
