Chapter 650
Chapter 650: Secret Area Boss

The reason why Lu Li wanted a Hunter to draw aggro was because of their range. However, they had to look out for was to pull the right monsters and give away the aggro at the right timing.
Beard Stubble had better mechanics than Remnant Dream, along with a better skill set to pull monsters from afar.
Despite Beard Stubble’s capabilities, Lu Li would never kick out Remnant Dream off the party because she brought in so much more value to the team than her DPS. She was known throughout Dawn for her luck when it came to looting monster corpses.
Remnant Dream from Ruling Sword – the one who looted all those Dark Gold grade equips.
She had received multiple, enticing offers from other major guilds. Lu Li wondered why no one wanted him this badly in his past life.
Fortunately, Remnant Dream and Hachi Chan were inseparable as friends. Since Hachi Chan was doing quite well for herself in Ruling Sword, both her and Remnant Dream couldn’t be bothered switching guilds.
Because of this, Remnant Dream would always boast about her loyalty.
Beard Stubble adjusted his positioning and angle of attack, then sniped the Felguard from afar. The crimson red Felguard turned and looked around for the intruder. With its Felhound pet by its side, it began making his way towards Lu Li and the others. None of the other monsters were aggro’d.
Lu Li was pleased and nodded. He had heard about how Beard Stubble was always the one aggroing the Boss in his party, and now, he had actually seen it in person.
“Azure, take aggro!”
Azure Sea Breeze stepped in front of Beard Stubble, about to draw the aggro of the two incoming monsters.
The Felhound immediately used Mana Drain in order to take away Azure Sea Breeze’s mana pool. However, this was basically useless as Warriors used rage instead of mana to cast skills.
The Felguard immediately followed up with Intercept and stunned Azure Sea Breeze.
Intercept: Run at high speed towards target. Intercept deals a small amount of damage and stuns the target for 3 seconds. 30 second cooldown.
It had a similar skillset as the Felguards that were summoned by Warlocks. However, at level 45, its skills were much stronger and more difficult to deal with.
Since Azure Sea Breeze was stunned for three seconds, he didn’t have enough time to draw the aggro of the Boss. The Felguard immediately switched aggro onto Lonesome Flower, who had been dealing the most DPS.
Although Fat Monkey was a glass cannon Fire Mage and Nuo Yu was dealing decent DPS as well, they couldn’t keep up with Lonesome Flower. He had always been the one that had worked hard to keep up with Lu Li. He was currently wearing multiple Dark Gold items, as well as some Exquisite level 40 Silver items.
As for Lu Li, he knew this would happen and had waited for a while before attacking the Boss.
After switching aggro, the Felguard rushed towards Lonesome Flower and casted Cleave. Cleave could attack up to two enemies at once, but the damage was mainly dealt to the target.
Lonesome Flower immediately lost two-thirds of his HP as the Felguard prepared for his next attack.
“Flower, use your refrigerator!” Lu Li shouted quickly.
It was too late to Blink away because the Boss would just chase after him. Lonesome Flower froze for a second and didn’t react.
He had been in numerous dungeon runs with Lu Li, and although he would often look down upon him, he always followed Lu Li’s commands completely.
He heard Lu Li shout “refrigerator” and subconsciously casted Ice Block. When the Boss attacked again, he was completely encased in ice and invulnerable.
This stalled enough time for the stun on Azure Sea Breeze to time out.
He immediately casted Charge into Taunt and the Boss began targeting him again. The ice melted away, revealing Lonesome Flower’s terrified expression. He waited to make sure that the boss was aggroed onto Azure Sea Breeze before he began attacking again.
Lu Li didn’t criticize him in front of his little sister because he wanted to save his face.
He had never fought this Boss before and decided to stick with a more conservative strategy.
The most-commonly used skills used by the Felguard were Intercept, Cleave, Taunt, Felstorm, War Stomp, Cripple, Rain of Fire and Silence. However, the only skills that they had to worry about were Cleave, Felstorm and Rain of Fire. The others were crowd-control skills which would eventually time out after a few seconds, given that the player adopted a safer playstyle for the affected duration.
Cleave was quite difficult to deal with and the only strategy was to stand in pairs to minimize the damage.
Cleave: Strikes a target in front of you as well as a nearby target, dealing large amount of damage. Cooldown 6 seconds.
The skill dealt a set amount of damage with each hit. The main target received the main chunk of the damage, but this could be split up between ally players. If a player was alone in a 3-yard radius, he would be instantly killed.
Besides Azure Sea Breeze, World’s Best Friend and Wandering, there were no one that could withstand a Cleave strike by themselves.
As for Felstorm, the Felguard would gain a 10% attack increase for each enemy hit after casting it. This stacked up to 10 times (100%) and lasted for 30 seconds. After casting Felstorm, the Felguard had the potential to deal double damage for a considerable amount of time.
Even the Main Tank would not be able to tank this damage.
Switching Main Tanks would likely be their best option. The two tanks had to be able to coordinate and switch aggo between the two of them – otherwise, the whole team would be wiped.
Rain of Fire was an Area of Effect skill that dealt damage and caused a burn debuff.
As the commander, Lu Li needed remind everyone to use their defensive skills when Rain of Fire was casted. Otherwise, it was almost certain that someone would die from the damage.
“World, you’re the second Main Tank. Cast Taunt 12 seconds after Azure uses his Taunt.” Lu Li wasn’t sure when Felguard would cast Felstorm and decided to remind World’s Best Friend just in case.
World’s Best Friend replaced Wandering as the secondary tank because Warriors were better at dealing with Demon monsters.
His mechanics and game sense were pretty good. As soon as Lu Li gave him the task, he immediately maintained second place on the aggro bar.
“World, take aggro on three and remember to activate your defensive skills!” Lu Li shouted.
Azure Sea Breeze was on critical health when he backed out of the fight. March Rain immediately healed him back to full HP and the Felguard casted Rain of Fire straight away.
There was no escaping this large area of effect skill and the fireballs landed on Azure Sea Breeze.
Fortunately, March Rain had reacted quickly. It would’ve been certain death for him otherwise.
There were four healers in the party this time. The Holy Paladin Midnight focused on healing the player that was tanking the Boss, while March Rain and Machine Bro watched over the whole team. Hachi Chan was in charge of healing those that were afflicted with the burn debuff.
Azure Sea Breeze stood in the Felstorm for 9 seconds, causing the Felguard to gain a 60% damage increase.
He immediately ordered Wandering to build up the aggro because someone might have to be sacrificed for the greater good of the team.
