I Don’t Want To Defy The Heavens

Chapter 404 - Arm In The Darkness

“We are fine and those bugs have been blocked. What is going on?”

“I understand. Look at the illusion behind us. Isn’t this what Sect Leader Lin showed us the last time?”

“Wa, are we protected?”

Every one of them was excited as they were able to live. They thought that they would die but didn’t think that such an unexpected thing would occur. They were so emotional that they wanted to cry.

At that moment, their faith strengthened.

One could see the entire process of the grey faith turning white. The Darkness God Domain absorbed the faith and became much stronger.

“Eh!”

A blue-colored faith was hidden within the white faith. Although it wasn’t that blue, compared to the white of everyone else, it stood out.

Not bad, who knew that someone’s faith in him would actually raise so much at such a time?

Wasn’t the person Xu Zhao who spoke previously?

“What power is this to actually block our babies? Damn.”

A dark and low voice spread out.

Gou’zi wore a black robe and didn’t move at all. Even his voice was modified. He listened to Young Master’s orders to teach all of them a lesson. Anyway, he just had to stand there and not do anything else.

Those words gave Xu Zhao and the others the utmost confidence. They believed that the bugs were unable to harm then and feared the image behind their bodies.

As Lin Fan studied the Darkness God Domain, he realized many miraculous uses.

This was the building of faith and the appearance of the god aura.

Even if he was thousands of miles away or numerous dimensions away, as long as one prayed, one would get a reply.

Of course, it was too early to talk about all of this. The power of the God Domain was not too strong and the distance at which the power could appear was limited.

When Lin Fan saw these scenes, he sighed due to the difficulty of it all.

He had to personally interfere to raise their faith. Was there anyone else who was as hardworking as him?

If this really was a faith world, he probably didn’t need to try so hard and large batches of people would fight to provide faith to him.

Gou’zi waited for the next order.

What would he do now?

Young Master didn’t reply to him.

Very quickly, Gou’zi received news for him to retreat. There was no need for him to do anything more.

“All of you remember, I will be back. The power backing you saved you, but I won’t let all of you off.”

Usually, only a fool would say such a thing.

But due to the effect and the pressure that he was putting on them, Gou’zi decided to follow what Young Master said.

The moment he said that, the black-robed man that Gou’zi was disguised as slowly disappeared.

Xu Zhao and the others heaved a sigh of relief. An enemy appeared out of nowhere and they thought that they would die here. Who knew that such a thing would happen?

After this matter, their faith in Lin Fan increased. It was very subconscious and even they themselves might not have realized it.

In the distance…

“Young Master, how was it?” Gou’zi asked.

“It was alright but there were areas that weren’t perfect. Work hard and we’ll have more chances in the future too.” Lin Fan said. Gou’zi’s acting was really bad, so he told Gou’zi to wear a black robe so as not to expose himself.

If he tried too many times in a short time, it would be easy to mess up.

Moreover, how would one be so unlucky to face so many dangers outside? They were just such random dangers.

An occasional encounter would be perfect.

Gou’zi nodded, determined to work hard to meet Young Master’s expectations.

“Let’s go, but we don’t have to rush back.”

Lin Fan didn’t plan on heading back since he had left the mountain which was something that Zhu Shen couldn’t accept. He couldn’t handle such things and would panic when he faced awkward situations. Even if he was now in the form of a pig, that face perfectly expressed his feelings.

Xu Zhao and the others were really collecting the details and infomation around the various cities and villages.

However, due to the Alliance, some villages were already empty. It was as if something had destroyed them.

As for what kind of damage, no one knew.

Thousands of miles away, an Alliance army was walking and all of them were wearing native clothing with even their hair cut. If one didn’t understand the Alliance or if they didn’t reveal themselves, then no one would be able to recognize them.

Since the Alliance had blown apart the gates to the Rich Land, the Alliance Headquarters formed a new army.

This was the Alliance’s sixth division and their goal was to dress as natives to understand what the natives were doing. More importantly, they wanted to know what the sects were doing.

The leader was a nine-star general who had some status but not a high one in the Alliance. Upon rough estimate, he was around stage two Dao Realm.

“General Iron Dragon, we have established several connection points and have managed to contact the Alliance Headquarters. Should we continue to head deeper in?” A guy asked. He didn’t like the clothes he was wearing and his hair was too long and uncomfortable.

Iron Dragon said coldly, “Remember not to call me general outside. We are now natives. We are a family that moved from somewhere far away and I am the head of the family.”

“Yes, family head.” The male replied.

Wu Zhige’s situation caused the Alliance Headquarters to reevaluate the native situation. They felt like coming over in the Alliance’s uniform would cause problems.

A person came from afar.

“Family Head, there is a city 300 miles ahead known as Valley City.” The man said.

Iron Dragon nodded and waved his hands to ask the group to pick up speed.

….

Lin Fan and Gou’zi overtook Xu Zhao. They were really quick. Apart from villages, they didn’t see any cities.

He had been thinking about something which was why there weren’t any secret realms in this world.

If one opened up, he would definitely head over to have fun.

Unfortunately, there weren’t any others.

A few days later…

“Young Master, there is a city there.” Gou’zi pointed to the distance.

Lin Fan lifted his head and saw a city. He waved his hand, “Go, let’s go take a look.”

They didn’t face any trouble along the way. Although there were many sects, it wasn’t that easy to bump into one. The place where Martial Path Mountain was didn’t belong to one of the four Alliances.

The four Alliances were mainly gathered in the north.

After all, the dividing line was the Imperial Dynasty and behind the Imperial Dynasty was the Alliance. Even if the Alliance and the Imperial Dynasty worked together, they wouldn’t be surrounded.

Valley City.

Lin Fan looked at the city name and walked in. This city wasn’t controlled by the Alliance and was still under the Imperial Dynasty. Maybe because it was quite far away, the defenses weren’t that strict.

At the same time, because they hadn’t experienced the cruelty of the Alliance, the city was pretty much the same as before.

“Young Master, this place looks really safe.” Gou’zi said, not feeling much danger.

“Let’s take a look.”

Lin Fan’s thoughts were simple: to develop Martial Path Mountain and expand. King Wutong’s rebellion had succeeded and he overthrew the Imperial Dynasty. If he wanted to become the boss he had to be strong enough and snatch whatever land he could.

Be it the Alliance or the Imperial Dynasty, as long as it was within the range of Martial Path Mountain he would snatch it.

The sellers were calling out.

The civilians weren’t very affected but one could still hear some of them discussing the current situation.

What they said was quite clear: life was getting tougher and tougher.

Who knew when danger would come?

He went to a restaurant to eat and stay the night.

“Family Head, we have set up the equipment and our signal is covering this area. The Headquarters can also receive the signal and video feed of this place.”

Their goal of hiding their identity and coming here was simple: to set up people in the Imperial Dynasty cities. Even if they weren’t controlling it they would have people there to monitor the situation.

The Alliance Headquarters formed a division just for this and they were just a small group in that division.

They had to continue to head to other cities.

Of course, they weren’t afraid of being noticed as the natives had no idea what the equipment was. Even if they saw it they wouldn’t know what it was.

General Iron Dragon was satisfied.

“Let’s test it. As long as the signal is fine we will leave right away.” Iron Dragon said.

“Yes.”

A machine was placed on the table of the inn and wave-like patterns jumped on the screen.

It was really faint but one could hear the beeping sounds.

Beside them, Lin Fan was trying to fall asleep but when he closed his eyes, he heard the beeping noises.

“Bear with it. I am a Sect Leader and I can’t get angry. I also can’t attack normal people.”

However, they were too much.

It lasted till such a late time.

Lin Fan got up and smacked the wall. “Hey, can you keep quiet? Why are you making so much noise? Can’t you wait till tomorrow? You have no morals at all. If it wasn’t for my status I would have beaten all of you up.”

As expected, it was useful.

The beeping stopped.

Lin Fan continued to sleep.

In the next room, Iron Dragon said softly, “Go and knock him out. Don’t cause any trouble in case people notice us.”

“Yes.” The guy replied. A vicious gaze appeared on his face. He felt that the native was really arrogant. But since the general said not to kill him, he had to listen to orders.

To him, they should have just killed him. What problem would even arise?

The man pushed open the door and looked around. After seeing that no one was paying attention to this place, he headed to the next room. He pressed the door with his palm and with a slight jolt, the door opened.

“Keke.” The guy smiled.

A small gap could be seen as the door was pushed open.

Suddenly, as the guy was about to step in, a hand appeared from the darkness and pulled him in.

With a smacking sound, the wooden door closed.

It was as if nothing had happened at all.
