I Might Be A Fake Cultivator

Chapter 172 - Reaching a Deal

“It’s absolutely perfect!” Professor Yang exclaimed.

He hugged the mechanical puppet on the floor tightly.

As if he was hugging some stunning beauty, his face was drunk with happiness.

An Lin and Su Qianyun were stunned. Where did the mature and composed Professor Yang go? Why did he look like a pervert now?

After rubbing against the mechanical puppet for a long time, Professor Yang finally came back to his senses. He then asked eagerly, “An Lin, where did you get such an amazing mechanical puppet from?”

An Lin scratched his head and said apologetically, “Can I not say?”

Professor Yang nodded and did not ask about this anymore.

The being who created such a perfect machine had definitely already reached unimaginable heights in terms of their knowledge of science and technology. In fact, he already had a suspicion in his mind regarding the creator.

“It seems like your mechanical puppet doesn’t have a power core,” Professor Yang remarked as he looked at the circular cavity in the Gundam’s chest.

An Lin nodded. “That’s right. Its core is constructed from the fused beast cores of a hundred beasts. This allows for perfect synergy between technology and the power of bloodlines. However, I’m absolutely clueless about how this power core is constructed.”

The information he had received from the ruins did not have any details regarding the construction of power cores for mechanical puppets. Thus, even though he owned this mechanical puppet, he was unable to use it.

It was also because of this that he decided to take it out in front of Professor Yang. He wanted to see whether this great scientist—who had dabbled in such technologies before—would be able to resolve this problem.

Professor Yang adjusted his glasses. “The critical function of the power core is for it to absorb and transform energy,” he said with a passionate glow in his eyes, “It also needs to build up a spiritual network in order to communicate with its owner… You’ve found the right person in me. In the vast lands of the Nine States, I’m afraid that I’m the only person who can help you construct an up to standard power core.”

“Really? Then how should I repay you?!” Hearing Professor Yang’s words, An Lin was overjoyed.

He knew that the power core of the mechanical puppet was something extraordinary. He was already mentally prepared to spend a huge fortune on it.

Professor Yang raised three fingers.

An Lin was a bit hesitant. “Three hundred thousand spirit stones?”

Professor Yang shook his head. “I don’t want money,” he smiled and said. “All I need is for you to leave your mechanical puppet here. I want you to leave it here for three days so that I can investigate it thoroughly. After three days, I’ll return the mechanical puppet to you along with a power core!”

An Lin blinked. “You want the technology?”

“Quite a smart one, huh…” Professor Yang smiled warmly and continued, “That’s right. Although I’ve completed extensive research into mechanical puppets, this is the first time I’ve seen such a perfect sample. I hope that through these three days of investigation, I can learn some new things.”

“No problem. But you need to help me build two power cores.” An Lin nodded and made a demand of his own.

In any case, Professor Yang’s demand was nothing detrimental to him. In fact, it could save him a small fortune. This was actually quite a sweet deal for him.

Professor Yang was slightly taken aback. “Why? You want one as a backup?”

An Lin shook his head. “No, it’s because I have two of these mechanical puppets. Now that you mention it though… Can I get four power cores instead? Better to be prepared, just in case.”

Hearing this, Professor Yang almost spat out a mouthful of blood. “Do you think it costs nothing to build these power cores?! You’ll be shocked by their production costs! I can only make you two, no more!!”

Just like that, An Lin and Professor Yang struck a deal.

Before he left, he deposited a drop of blood essence at the research center. This was needed to form the spiritual network in the power core. Then, he happily continued on his sightseeing journey with Su Qianyun.

“As expected of a great scientist, he’s so capable! He can even build power cores!” An Lin was in a fairly good mood, and he kept praising the professor as he strolled along.

“Student An Lin is also very impressive,” Su Qianyun smiled and said. “You were able to take out such a perfect mechanical puppet. That was the first time I’ve seen Professor Yang let his emotions get the better of himself.”

An Lin did not know if it was just his imagination or what. However, he felt that Su Qianyun was a better talker now, and was also more considerate and thoughtful in what she said. She was so smooth when praising An Lin just now!

The two of them continued strolling along. Apart from some restricted areas of the imperial palace, they pretty much visited all the other interesting places.

During dinnertime, An Lin and Da Bai also feasted on many delicacies of the Green Wood Imperial Palace.

Not only did the delicacies here smell, look and taste great, they also contained numerous spiritual ingredients. In addition to their exquisite taste, they could also imperceptibly strengthen one’s body and increase one’s cultivation base.

An Lin was full of praise for this meal, and his belly bulged from all the food he ate.

Da Bai had been in his miniature form the entire day. After seeing the tableful of delicacies though, he transformed back into his gigantic form. It was for no other reason other than to eat more.

Just like that, a happy and blissful day passed.

The next day, An Lin and Su Qianyun once again visited Professor Yang’s research center.

Upon seeing that his Gundam was dismantled into small pieces by Professor Yang, An Lin was absolutely shocked.

“Professor Yang, what on earth are you doing?!” An Lin was horrified. It was as if his precious toy had been shattered by his playmates.

Professor Yang adjusted his glasses and replied calmly, “Isn’t it obvious? I’m conducting in-depth research.”

Staring at the hundreds upon thousands of components laying scattered on the floor, An Lin sucked in a deep breath. “Are you sure that you can reassemble it?”

Professor Yang smiled warmly. “Rest assured,” he said sincerely, “I’m a professional!”

An Lin could not bear to watch on. He grabbed Su Qianyun’s hand and started making his way out. Looking on helplessly as his precious Gundam was disassembled, his heart throbbed with pain and unease!

All he could do now was pray that Professor Yang was diligent and responsible, unlike certain ‘professors’ in the mortal world.

After exiting the research center, he suddenly heard a soft and mellow voice sound next to his ears. “Your… hand…”

An Lin blinked. Looking at Su Qianyun’s beautiful face flush red and feeling her warm soft hand in his grasp, An Lin immediately let go in fright. “Ah, I’m so sorry! It was in the heat of the moment…”

“I-it’s fine.” Su Qianyun shook her head and calmed herself down. She then continued softly, “Sister Chang’e told me that girls won’t get pregnant if they hold hands with a boy. They’ll only get pregnant if they kiss.”

Hearing this, An Lin was stunned to his spot. A string of curses raced through his mind.

A girl will get pregnant through a kiss?

Is it really okay for Sister Chang’e to teach Su Qianyun such things?

Nevertheless, he did not dare teach Su Qianyun the correct physiological knowledge.

Doing so would be courting disaster. Sister Chang’e really would smack him to death!

As they walked away from the research center, they came across an extremely handsome male who was luxuriously dressed.

“Second Brother, where are you heading?” Su Qianyun greeted the male cheerily.

Su Qianyun had two elder brothers, Su Gu and Su Xin. The male before their eyes appeared to be her second brother, Su Xin.

Su Xin’s skin was fair and smooth, and he was especially handsome.

Upon seeing him, An Lin was stunned by his stunningly attractive appearance. Describing him as handsome was truly appropriate!

As expected of these two siblings, their genes are so good…

Su Xin turned around. Seeing who had called out to him, an adoring smile spread across his handsome face. “Jiang Yanan, the Sword Grand Master, is coming to the palace to deliver a lecture today. I’m heading over to ask for a piece of advice right now. Are you interested in tagging along?”

Hearing this, Su Qianyun’s eyes lit up. “Sure! I’m actually really interested in swordsmanship as well~”

Su Xin nodded. Then, he turned his gaze toward An Lin. “This is…?”

Su Qianyun slapped her forehead adorkably. “Oh, he’s my classmate,” she introduced apologetically, “His name is An Lin. An Lin, this is my brother, Su Xin.”

After Su Qianyun’s introduction, An Lin and Su Xin both greeted each other. Then, the three of them started walking together.

As they walked, Su Xin glanced at An Lin from time to time and appeared to be extremely interested in him.

These glances made An Lin feel a little uneasy. Experienced and knowledgeable as he was, he could not help but develop a piece of frightening speculation.

Could it be… that Su Xin was ‘interested’ in him?
