Chapter 667 - The Countdown of Lu and Lin (1)
Was he unhappy?
An’an looked at him, asking with her tender voice. “Do you want to have kids?”
Lu Yan’s hand was clenched into a fist in his pocket, how is he supposed to answer her?
Yes.
Yes, he wanted to have kids.
He really wasn’t young anymore, he wanted his own child.
It wasn’t entirely because of his age, he wasn’t really planning on having kids before he met her but things were different after An’an appeared in his life. It was because it was her that he wanted to have children. It was so she could give birth to their children, not because of his age that he wanted to settle down.
“Have they been kidnapped?”
“No, I haven’t received any of those calls from any kidnapper. It’s just that Su Yan and Chenyi have gone missing for no reason!”
How could they just go missing for no reason?
They must have been abducted.
“I understand. Continue to have people search for them. I’ll rush back to Karghalik first thing tomorrow morning!”
“Okay, Mo’er, actually, Chenyi…” Tang Hai faltered.
“What are you trying to tell me?” Tang Mo’er could sense something fishy with Tang Hai, he seemed to be keeping something from her.
“Nothing, Mo’er. I’ll hang up now.” Tang Hai hung up the phone.
Jun Mosheng then walked over. “Mo’er, what’s wrong?”
Tang Mo’er kept her cell phone away and looked at Jun Mosheng. “Uncle Jun, something has happened on my adoptive father’s side, I need to rush back first thing tomorrow morning.”
“Okay, I’ll get someone to arrange it for you.”
Jun Mosheng walked out of the room. Along the corridor, Gu Mohan stood outside. He was just staring at the door, but he didn’t step inside.
“President Gu, Mo’er is inside the room, why aren’t you going in?” Jun Mosheng asked.
Tang Mo’er lifted her head and looked towards the door when she heard them talking, his deep and narrow eyes landed on her face. He looked at her with a loving gaze.
Their eyes met and Tang Mo’er reached over, closing the room door, leaving Gu Mohan outside.
“President Gu, did you have a fight with Mo’er?”
Gu Mohan retracted his gaze. “Mm, I did something wrong and made her angry.”
Gu Mohan then looked at Jun Mosheng. “President Jun, Lin Xuanji is still in the altar. Aren’t you planning to do something about it yet?”
Jun Mosheng shook his head in disapproval. “No. If I really do something, the altar is going to collapse and the people of Miaojiang are bound to suffer and there will be massive injuries and even death.”
Gu Mohan raised the corner of his lips. “President Jun indeed has moral standards and actually cares about the people around you. This is probably the greatest difference between you and Uncle Jin. Uncle Jin is able to become a demon just because of that one person he cares about and loves. He doesn’t care for anyone else and just disregards them. But then, President Jun, if you’re not going to do it, Uncle Jin is going to take over and do it.”
“You’re telling me…”
Their eyes met and they both knew what each other was thinking about.
…
In the room, the High Priest’s wife, Ah Man was holding a tray of dishes and she knocked on the door.
A cold, charismatic voice sounded. “Come in.”
Ah Man pushed the door and stepped into the room. She scanned around the room before noticing an imposing figure standing by the windows.
Lu Jinwen was dressed in full black while standing by the windows. His figure seemed to have blended into the darkness of the night. He was mysterious, dignified and strong.
Even if he just stood there without saying a word, he was exuding a strong aura.
Ah Man’s face flushed red. She placed the tray of dished on the desk. “Mr Lu, how is your stay here? Is everything fine?”
Lu Jinwen slowly turned around, he had one hand in his pocket and slumped against the wall. “Thank you, Madam, for providing me with the accommodation.”
The High Priest had chased him out of Miaojiang and so the High Priest’s wife had hidden him away. The High Priest would never have anticipated that his beautiful wife had been seduced by Lu Jinwen.
Ah Man looked at his cold, almond-shaped eyes. She had heard her mother say that men with almond-shaped eyes were bound to have great achievements as leaders.
Ah Man’s face flushed red. “You’re welcome, Mr Lu. The dishes are going cold, come over and have dinner.”
Lu Jinwen walked over.
He arrived beside her, bringing with him a clean, masculine scent. Ah Man’s heart palpitated, her legs went weak and she fell in Lu Jinwen’s direction.
A muscular arm was around her slim waist, bringing her into his arms. She heard a deep, charismatic voice above her head. “Madam, are you alright?”
Ah Man was held by Lu Jinwen in his arms, their bodies so close together, and Ah Man’s head was on his chest.
Holding onto her jaw with two slender fingers, he forced her head up.
