Chapter 765: Medivh’s Wife

If there was any Thief in the mainland that everyone knew about, it had to be Garona.

She was a legend in the world of Azeroth, not only because she had Orc blood, but also because she was regarded as the one who turned the wheel of history.

Yes, Garona was a mixed breed.

During the occupation of Draenor by the Orcs, many Draenei women were assaulted by Orc soldiers. It was in these tumultuous conditions that Garona was born.

However, because she had Orc-like green skin and Draenei ancestry, the local residents didn’t put her to death and instead made her a slave. After she fled and tried to join the Orc camp, she was rejected because she was from a weak bloodline.

Eventually, the deceitful Gul’dan generously took her in and allowed her to join the Shadow Council under his control.

Growing up during that period, she was very well-versed in Draenor and Orc culture. This made her invaluable to the Shadow Council and she soon became the Chief Translator, as well as a private spy and an assassin for Gul’dan.

After the Orcs invaded Azeroth, Garona’s experienced greatly helped them gain insight into their latest human enemies.

She had been sent by Gul’dan as a secret spy to the Elwynn Forest, but was found and arrested by the humans. To rescue Garona, the Orc Horde raided the Horthshire Abbey, an important stronghold of the Kingdom of Azeroth, and turned it into rubble.

Later, she was sent to assassinate Medivh, but a demi-god like Medivh was not so easy to deal with. He killed his attackers and left Garona to relay a message back to Gul’dan. Gul’dan sent her back to Medivh, but this time, Medivh kept her around.

During her time with Medivh, Garona met Khadgar, his apprentice. He was also a spy from Dalaran sent to watch Medivh.

Khadgar initially hated those of both Orc and Draenei blood, and the feeling was mutual with Garona. As time passed, a mutual trust formed between them, but Garona and Khadgar continued to attack other’s races. However, as they learned from each other, they soon suspected that Medivh was keeping from secrets from them.

Eventually, they discovered that Medivh was actually the person who had brought the Orcs into Azeroth through the power of the fallen Titan Sargeras.

As to why Medivh had Sargeras’ personality and strength, that was another story.

Khadgar and Garona fled to the Stormwind fortress where they met Ryan and Lothar. The future king had no qualms with her Orc heritage and accepted her.

They then organized a group of people to mount a surprise-attack on Karazhan and kill Medivh.

In the next few months, Garona became King Ryan’s most trusted advisor. She told the Lord about the Horde’s inner workings, giving them an advantage that they used to deal with them.

However, when the Stormwind Fortress fell, she assassinated King Ryan and brought his heart back to her master Gul’dan.

No one knew what all of this was for, but what happened next surprised everyone – Garona told the Doomhammer where the Shadow Council was held. The Doomhammer then raided the Shadow Council and killed all of its members but Gul’dan.

Later, while Gul’dan was in the process of finding Sargeras’ eye, he was destroyed by the demon in Sargeras’ tomb.

From that point onwards, Garona was truly free, but her story went much further than that. She had already become pregnant when she assassinated King Lothar, which was simply impossible for Medivh to imagine.

In any case, her child survived, but because she had killed King Ryan, Garona thought she had definitely gone mad. In an attempt to not bring her misfortune upon her son, she found Meliri – a Mage human soul that had lived for more than 3000 years. Garona entrusted her child to her and told her that the boy’s name was Med’an.

Since then, Garona had never shown her face again to the world.

“Why did Garona kill the King?” As a member of the Alliance, if Lu Li didn’t ask this question, he really wouldn’t have been paying attention to her story.

“Who knows? Maybe it was because of Gul’dan’s manipulation, or maybe it was because of… Medivh. In any case, it doesn’t matter,” Pasonia answered as she shook her head. “All in all, it wasn’t her intention. She is actually a very simple girl.”

“Simple?”

“She was the one who killed King Lothar of the Stormwind and carried Medivh’s son. Both of these things have already made her an incomparable legend…” Lu Li thought to himself.

“Anyway, Varian has since pardoned her crime,” Pasonia said.

This was the key point. Although Lu Li did not know when Varian would give up on seeking revenge or what kind of pardon was given, Pasonia had a very close connection to the court and was unlikely to be wrong.

“Where can I find her?” Lu Li asked.

“No one knows where to find her, but I have an idea of where she could be,” Pasonia started, then blinked before saying, “She’s in Ravenholdt Manor.”

“Ah!” Lu Li and Water Fairy were both stunned.

“There were many speculations about the whereabouts of Garona. Some said that she was dead while others said that she had followed Medivh and disappeared. However, considering what is known, it would have been impossible for her to escape Doomhammer alone if she was seriously injured and pregnant,” Pasonia reasoned.

“So someone must have saved her,” Lu Li guessed.

“I once interrogated an Orc captive who was an eyewitness to the event. According to his confession, there were two Thieves that came out to repel Doomhammer and take Garona away. I’m afraid to say it, but only Ravenholdt Manor would have a Grand Master Thief like that,” Pasonia explained a little uncomfortably.

MI7 was still somewhat younger than the Ravenholdt Manor.

In addition, MI7 consisted of Stormwind’s Assassins. Most of them were humans and the average human lifespan was often too short. They would often die before becoming a master.

There were all sorts of races in Ravenholdt Manor.

“Thank you, esteemed madam,” Lu Li said, thanking her formally. This information was already enough.

As for how he was going to find Garona in Ravenholdt Manor, he still had no idea, but that wouldn’t be too difficult. He was part of the Ravenholdt Manor, so he definitely had an advantage over outsiders.

Lu Li said goodbye to Pasonia and went to the arena; there was an event today that he wanted to attend.
