Since the System had told him that it was a success, the Gnomish Poultryizer could now be used. He didn’t need to experiment any further.

He had made a total of ten and only one of them had failed. Some mistakes in Engineering caused energy cores to become unstable and explode. Fortunately, the hundreds of gold he had spent upgrading the workshop hadn’t gone to waste and the explosion was contained to a small area.

He then left the workshop as the game time for the day was almost over.

Over the course of the day, Lu Li had made a small knife for a quest and ten Gnomish Poultryizers. It felt like a waste.

He didn’t even have time to level, which was an extremely important job for an expert player like him.

When he logged out of Dawn, it was day time in real life. When the players entered the game, their bodies were put into a light form of sleep. This meant that they didn’t have to sleep after logging out if they didn’t want to, but for the sake of his health, Lu Li still rested for 2 hours.

He was woken up by his cell phone ringer; it was Square Root 3 calling him.

Lu Li suddenly remember that there was something important on today. It had to do with Kitty Likes Meat’s father, who was a former player and coach. Now, he was just a guy who trained his daughter at home.

When they were talking about him, they referred to him as Cat Dad.

Cat Dad had come to see his daughter today. She had left her home half a month ago, but he had already come to visit her over forty times. He wanted to accompany his daughter in the morning, take her out to dinner, walk with her to buy something… there was always a reason.

As such, Square Root 3 decided to invite him to be Ruling Sword’s coach, to which he reluctantly accepted.

Lu Li was going to meet with him and come up with some kind of training program.

When Lu Li was about to leave, he ran into his sister. Other than her restriction on vigorous exercise, Lu Xin was no different to a normal person now. The doctor also advised her to go out more, but not alone.

“Big bro, are you going out? I’ll come with you!” Lu Xin said excitedly; she had waited for Lu Li for a long time.

She knew that her brother was very busy, so she hadn’t bothered him much over these last few months. She only asked to go on walks with him after he had logged out of the game.

“Sure. I’ll grab a coat for you,” Lu Li said, carefully watching out for his sister as they left.

Lu Li didn’t live far from Ruling Sword headquarters, but it was still quite a long walk. Lu Xin could not walk quickly, so it took a while before they arrived at their destination – a French-inspired BBQ restaurant.

Regardless of whether it was French of Japanese, Lu Li wasn’t particularly fond of it. Although he enjoyed the taste, he couldn’t stand this kind of pretentious behavior.

Fortunately, he wasn’t an unreasonable person. Just because he didn’t like it didn’t mean that everyone else had to not like it as well.

Square Root 3, Kitty Likes Meat, Cat Dad, Cat Mum, Lu Li and his sister made up a total of six people.

Kitty Likes Meat knew that Lu Xin had surgery recently, so she was particularly nice to her. She pulled out a chair and offered for her down to sit next to her. Lu Li saw that her sister was being included, so he did nothing to stop this.

“You must have been waiting for some time. Why haven’t you guys ordered?” Lu Li asked as he picked up the menu and began looking through it.

“It hasn’t been that long and it’s not even noon yet. It’s normally so hard to get a meal with you, so I don’t mind waiting,” Square Root 3 answered with a smile before turning to take care of Lu Xin.

“Don’t get any ideas about my sister. You’re too old,” Lu Li said uncomfortably.

This was definitely discrimination – Kitty Likes Meat and Lu Xin could hold hands, but Square Root 3 couldn’t even care about her.

The atmosphere started off light as everyone engaged in casual conversation. However, the topic quickly shifted towards the game and the major clubs.

“It feels like new players really like going to Glory Capital,” Square Root 3 commented.

“But for the newcomers, Glory Capital is not the best place to be. Their knockout system is too cruel,” Cat Dad couldn’t help but say when he heard that.

It was like they were talking about chess in front of a chess expert; there was no way he was going to stay quiet.

“Because they are the number 1 guild, their requirements for new players are much more demanding. Most of the professional players there spent their childhoods in the Glory Capital training camp,” Lu Li chimed in.

“There is Freedom Sky’s Midnight Ghost – he was part of the same generation as Blood Dagger, but was ultimately eliminated. There is also Blood Red War Flag’s Innocent Child, Seventh Heaven’s Southern Persian, Gale Legion’s Gaze…” Cat Dad recounted all the notable players that had been eliminated, some of which Square Root 3 and Lu Li didn’t even know.

“In fact, my dad was at the Glory Capital youth training camp,” Kitty Likes Meat said, revealing her father’s identity.

“I’ve never seen you before. What generation were you from?” Lu Li asked. He and Square Root 3 immediately realized that they were before a great senior of theirs.

“Haha, it’s not actually worth mentioning. Glory Capital’s youth training camp isn’t such a big thing. There are a dozen new players in every rotation and all but one or two would be eliminated by the end. The rest would just join the other guilds – that group of people would be in the hundreds,” Cat Dad laughed.

“We were planning to set up an academy, but we wanted your thoughts on it,” Square Root 3 said.

“You guys?” Cat Dad was quite surprised. He didn’t think that Lu Li and Square Root 3 were so ambitious. Youth training camps and training players were not simple tasks; they were systematic and long-term development strategies. Not every club could afford to or had the courage to invest in such a thing.

“That’s right; we plan to start from the basics and build our own Glory Capital in future,” Lu Li said.

He didn’t say that they would exceed Glory Capital; that would just be arrogant. Glory Capital had been around for so long and had endured through so many declines that they had become gaming legends.

“This is not a small sum of money. Can your family afford something like this,” Cat Dad asked unsurely.

“We can do it little by little. It’s not just the training camp – we want to have whatever Glory Capital has. And if they don’t have it, we’ll still try to do it. We don’t want our guild to be short-lived. Would you like to join forces with us?” Lu Li asked slowly, but confidently.

Cat Dad smiled bitterly and looked at Cat Mum, but she ignored him and talked to Lu Xin instead.

He had once been too obsessed with the game and had almost lost her. Afterwards, he announced his retirement, but after so many years, this was his chance to chase his old dream again.
