Chapter 701 - Mr Gu’s First Child, Niuniu Was Born
An’an had committed suicide and on that very same day, Tang Mo’er was sent to the hospital. She was going into labor before the estimated due date.
It was late at night, heavy footsteps could be heard along the corridor of the hospital. Gu Mohan was dressed completely in black and he rushed over from outside.
He arrived in front of the delivery suite and the doctors rushed out from there. “President Gu, Mrs Gu has endured an emotional turmoil and she’s currently too weak to go into labor now. However, the bad news is that her water broke and if this continues, the fetus will die from lack of oxygen.”
Within moments, Gu Mohan was striding into the delivery suite. “I’ll check on her.”
The doctor was about to stop him but it was too late, Gu Mohan had already entered the delivery suite.
In the delivery suite, Tang Mo’er lay on the bed and her face was covered in tiny water droplets. One couldn’t tell whether those droplets were her tears or sweat, her hair was entangled around her neck and her face contorted in pain.
Gu Mohan quickly walked over to stand beside her, crouching over to hold onto her hand and planting a kiss on it. “Mo’er.”
This tiny life had finally arrived.
Time seemed to have paused, Gu Mohan’s body stiffened and he lifted his head as his bloodshot eyes landed on the baby.
His muscles started to tense up and his heart thumped wildly. It felt so magical!
“Congratulations, President Gu. You’re a father now.” The doctor placed the baby into Gu Mohan’s arms.
Getting up, Gu Mohan reached his arms out to hold the baby in his arms. He had never behaved this carefully before, the baby was so tiny and fragile. He was afraid of dropping the baby onto the ground while holding the baby in his arms.
He carried the baby in his arms and the baby just looked at him with big, glistening eyes.
“Is it a baby boy or girl?” Tang Mo’er asked feebly.
“Mrs Gu, it’s a baby boy, you have a son!”
She gave birth to a son.
An’an had asked her previously whether she was conceiving a baby boy or girl, she answered her, it was a baby girl.
It was said that mothers would always be the most accurate about their baby’s gender, that saying must be bogus. She didn’t guess correctly, she had given birth to a son instead of a daughter.
Gu Mohan ran his calloused fingertips over the baby’s cheeks, it felt really soft. Mo’er had given birth to a son, Mo’er had given birth to his son.
He felt his entire heart softening, they were going to be his entire world from then onwards, he would do anything just to make them happy.
Tang Mo’er felt as though all the strength in her body had been taken away, she lay on the obstetric bed with no energy at all. Though she felt a little sad that she hadn’t given birth to a daughter, she was still happy about giving birth to her child safely and revealed a sweet motherly smile.
Gu Mohan bent down, placing the baby beside Tang Mo’er. Tang Mo’er lowered her head and looked at her son, she leaned forward to kiss the baby’s cheek.
But she suddenly felt her vision darken, Gu Mohan had supported himself beside her and gave her a light peck on the cheek. “Mo’er, my son and I are going to make sure to protect you well, you are our princess, from now until forever.”
Those were probably the sweetest words Tang Mo’er had ever heard in her life, she buried her face in the pillow and held onto the baby’s tiny hand gently.
“You must be satisfied, you’ve always wanted a son all along!” Tang Mo’er sent him a chiding glare.
As Gu Mohan stretched his arm out, he ruffled her hair but he refused to move his lips away from her. “It’s not that I want a son, I already knew that you were pregnant with my son.”
He was so proud of himself.
Well, she’d have to admit that he was indeed capable.
He is the most capable man in the entire world!
“Niuniu.” Tang Mo’er suddenly mentioned a name.
“What?”
“The baby’s nickname is going to be Niuniu.”
Niuniu?
Gu Mohan furrowed his brows hearing that, his son, Gu Mohan’s son, was going to be called ‘Niuniu’?
She was joking, wasn’t she?
“Niuniu, I want him to grow up healthy and strong like a cow[1.Niuniu refers to cow in chinese.]”
That was probably the greatest wish a mother could possibly ask for, for their children to grow up healthy and strong.
In that moment, Gu Mohan felt so warm and cozy, his woman was lying on the bed on her side, his son was in her arms and he supported himself beside them, just like a tree protecting them both in his embrace.
