Chapter 178 - Yeah, you are my little vixen
After a while, Nian Junting narrowed his eyes and smiled slyly, “I get it now, you were trying to stir me up when you first rejected me, weren’t you?”
Luosang looked at him in shock, why did he bring up the past again?
“No…”
“Forget it, I only have myself to blame for being tempted so easily, falling for your trap,” Nian Junting remarked, “No wonder my mother said that girls nowadays were all full of fresh tricks, different from the vixens and hoes from her time.”
Luosang wished that she could take back her words.
She knew that he liked to twist words and live in his own imagination, she should have been more careful with what she said.
“Mr. Nian, there are still many vixens in our time…”
“Yeah, you are my little vixen,” Nian Junting said and grabbed her hand.
Luosang stared into the handsome face, she thought that there must be something wrong with her. Her heart was beating rapidly and she could feel flutters in her stomach after hearing the words of this narcissist.
“People do turn a little strange after hanging out with a strange person for too long,” Luosang thought.
“Um… Mr. Nian, where’s your car? Where did you park?” Luosang’s best coping mechanism was to just change the topic before he could kill the conversation.
“There’s no parking space available here, so I parked at the back about five minutes away.”
Luosang was surprised and exclaimed, “I didn’t expect someone as obnoxious as you to obey traffic laws.”
“Nonsense. I’m not an obnoxious guy,” Nian Junting said defensively.
Luosang felt something uncomfortable in her throat.
Nian Junting pulled her along and continued, “Obnoxious is used to describe an unreasonable person. Have I ever been unreasonable before? Every time I act out, I deal with people who need to be taught a lesson.”
Luosang nodded her head in contemplation. He was right, she had never seen him abuse his authority before, except with Mr. Lin.
“Of course, I must abide by traffic rules,” Nian Junting pursed his lips and lowered his gaze, “I had a buddy in the army who got injured in a mission after being posted to the ancillary police force. On his way to the hospital, there was a terrible traffic jam and the ambulance was stuck in the middle of heavy traffic. The traffic police couldn’t clear the path in time and hence, he couldn’t get to medical help in time.”
Luosang was shocked. Her throat felt dry and she didn’t know what to say.
“I had another comrade who became a fireman after he was posted out,” Nian Junting took a brief pause before continuing, “He told me that 90% of the times they were on an emergency run, they were delayed by traffic jams. Time for these firemen are extremely crucial, every second count and it translates into the number of lives they could save. We shouldn’t park our cars haphazardly and inconvenient others no matter how busy we are.”
“…Hmm,” Luosang agreed, she was impressed with what he just said.
It was rare for the rich and the privileged to show public consideration and consciousness, and to abide by traffic laws and protect the environment.
For Nian Junting to have such upright principles, he must have been brought up well by his parents.
She thought about the men she had encountered before in the past. So few of them had admirable principles like he did.
